A Prayer For Her…

I just watched one of Tyler Perry’s movies-“For Coloured Girls” (I know, I know, old news, I am way out of date) but I still feel pained in my heart…

I feel pain in my heart for the woman with the abusive  man she couldn’t leave and who finally murdered her kids by throwing them out of the window of a 5 storey building…

For the woman who had a terrible childhood of molestation from her granddad and who uses sex-one night stands with different men as a way to numb the pain..

For the 16year old with a bright future, but also with an unwanted pregnancy she got rid of with tools from the drunk lady in the ghetto for fear  of what the world would say, because of the shame of being young, unmarried and pregnant…

tears 2

For the executive boss lady married to a man who sleeps with men and gave her a gift of HIV…

For the woman who was raped in her own home by a man she trusted…

For the women who let the ‘I am sorry(s) baby” rob them of what they know they should have done;#LEAVE…

For the woman who does not get the privilege of ” I am sorry baby” but gets the “shut up bitch, I said I am sorry”…

I feel pained in my spirit because some of the above is some woman’s reality…

And as I watch, I get to the part where the women decide not to commit the suicide they have considered at some point in their lives but to get to the ends of their rainbow…

Where they decide that their love is too beautiful to have it thrown back on their face…

sad

I lift my face, in true worship to God, in sincerity of mind and heart, for as many that found themselves again after the emotional trauma and I feel a stirring in my spirit to pray for them all, for not just the coloured girls but for as many women who are going through some trying times emotionally-in relationships/marriages out there..

“I pray the realization hits you soon that your love is too amazing to have it thrown back on your face.

I pray you love yourself enough to leave and let go if need be and wait for what you deserve.

I pray that God heals you, heals you enough to see the good in all you went through, that someday, you can use your experience to help one more woman like you.

I pray you find yourself again, in totality and in Christ.

I pray you find God, even through the tears,

I pray the joy that trumps all you’ve been through, finds its place in your heart… Amen”

And for everyone reading this, please take a minute to say a prayer for our fellow sisters, and if you are reading this and going through some stuff in one way or the other, please say the above prayer for yourself also.

blog for

I cannot say that I have an inkling of what you’ve being through/are going through but I can say without doubt that our God is still a comforter and is always there for you.

With love, hugs and prayers,

Frances.

    • E, ladies have to know that love doesn’t entail abuse-physical and emotional and at the first threat of either, we should pick race, real race without looking back..
yes, like we’ve seen in the Arowolo story, the man was convicted but the woman Is dead and gone…the dead can tell no stories…tis sad

  4. amen to your prayers ohh frances. Sometimes I don’t understand why a woman who has the choice to run won’t. Is it by force? ha…some ppl think I’m too blunt in this kind of things but biko, all I will tell you is Let God write your love story. It can’t be better than that.
And as for those who end up unfortunate, I pray God heals their wounded broken spirit. Amen.

Me sef when I watched the film eh, I just got depressed. I told myself I won’t watch it again. It’s very sad.

  5. Amen oo. God please give us ladies your Spirit of Wisdom and Discernment. May we know battles worth fighting for and those we are better off running from (especially wrt love and relationships) . Was about to mention the Arowolo story. There are many other stories too. Know a lady whose husband threw her down the stairs. The sad thing is most stay cos of their children but those same kids are the reason to run cos if anything happens and the woman dies the kids get the worst hit ever.

    • Am telling you Cee. Some stay cuz of the kids but when they die and the kids are left alone, who takes care of them then?
The reasons for staying are inconsequential in the face of what could and can happen if one stay in an abusive relationship/marriage.
And I say a big AMEN to your prayer, may God give us the grace to know the ones we should run away from, the ones we should flee from without looking back..
Thanks for stopping by,I appreciate you much.

    • @divingdeeper, the place of finding our identity in Christ in moving past abuse in relationships/marriages cannot be overemphasized. Its one if not the most important in eradicating this terrible situations in relationships. Abuse in marriages wasn’t God”s plan at all..
Thank you for coming on here, welcome to the blogosphere, will definitely check out your blog..

  7. Emotional scars and wounds are a lot more difficult than physical pain. It really takes God to heal some wounds because everyone has different emotional strength. Great post.

  9. Its so so sad some of the things ladies go through, I got to listen to a lady recently recounting the ordeal of how her hubby beats her on an almost daily basis, and after each torture he starts laughing at her, and mocking her knowing fully well she (being whom she is) can’t possibly retaliate…that broke a bit of my heart, so painful and I pray God helps her and so many others out of such unhealthy relationships. 😦

    • Uje, so the man isn’t only a wife beater, he is a sadist, happy at the fact that as he puts her down, he rips not just the physical part of her but also the emotional part and her self-esteem..
ah, Lord help these women, pls do, tis too sad…
